Specialization

Specialization is a special bonus (and sometimes malus) set that can be chosen upon reaching level 15 using command table. At level 30 you can choose a second specialization.

Choosing a specialization is free. If you already have a specialization and wish to change it, your current specialization can be removed at the cost of 1000 caps.


Sharpshooter - Skilled Precision with Sniper Weaponry[edit | edit source]

  • Unlocked by: Sniper 3
  • Sniper Weaponry deals +20% damage (does not include standard rifles)

Ranger - Storm the Enemy Using Standard Ballistic Rifles[edit | edit source]

  • Unlocked by: Trooper 3
  • Standard Ballistic Rifles gain +10% Critical Hit Chance: Combat Rifles, Pipe Rifles, LMG, SMG, etc. May also include other similar weapons. But does not cover Shotguns, Pistols, or Sniper Weaponry.
  • Synergy with Trooper Perk
    • (1) & (2) +20 / +40 Firearms Skills & Standard Ballistic Firearms deal +10% / +20% Critical Hit Damage (not snipers)
    • (3) Specialization + VATS overdrive decreased by 1 minute.
    • (4) & (5): For Rangers, Standard Ballistic Rifles now gain +5% / +10% Critical Hit Chance.

Cyborg - You Were Born to Wield Energy Weapons[edit | edit source]

  • Unlocked by: Future Soldier 3
  • +20% damage to: Standard Energy-based Weapons (does not include sniper, incendiary, or explosive weapons.)
    • Applies to: Gatling laser.
  • Synergy with Future Soldier Perk
    • (1) +20 Energy Weapons Skill
    • (2) +40 Energy Weapons Skill + Energy Weapons now deal 10% Limb Damage
    • (3) Specialization +60 Energy Weapons Skill + Energy Weapons now deal 20% Limb Damage
    • (4) +80 Energy Weapons Skill + Energy Weapons now have a 5% Chance to Critical Hit.

Master Commando - Expert with Automatic Assault Weapons[edit | edit source]

  • Unlocked by: Commando
  • +5% Critical Hit Chance to all weapons
  • +10% Damage to all automatic weapons (only when in automatic firing mode)
  • +20% Critical Hit Chance to Combat Knives and Throwing Knives
  • Synergy with Commando Perk
    • (1) +10 to all Weapon Skills,
    • (2) Combat Knives and Throwing Knives have a +10% Crit Chance & Throwing Knives now stagger opponents,
    • (3) Specialization + Ballistic Weapons and Combat Knives now have a chance to stagger opponents, &
    • (4) +20 to all Weapon Skills & increased chance to stagger for Ballistic Firearms and Combat Knives.

Marauder - Unmatched in Melee Combat[edit | edit source]

  • Unlocked by: Big Leagues 3
  • +20% damage to: Any melee weapon and unarmed
  • Incoming melee damage is reduced 15%
  • Power attacking with Blunt weapons have a 50% chance to knock down opponents.
  • Power attacking with Bladed weapons have a 50% chance to cause opponents to bleed.

Demolitionist[edit | edit source]

  • Unlocked by: Demolition Expert 3
  • 25% damage to: Explosives, Missile Launcher, Flamer, Fat Man

Animal Handler[edit | edit source]

  • Unlocked by: Attack Dog 3
  • Your dogs gain +5 base damage
  • Your dogs take -75% Weapon Damage
  • Your dogs take -75% Explosive Damage

Combat Engineer[edit | edit source]

  • Turrets gain +3 base damage
  • Turrets take -75% Weapon Damage
  • Turrets take -75% Explosive Damage

Vanguard[edit | edit source]

  • Unlocked by: Iron Defender 3
  • Damage taken is reduced by 15%
  • Limb damage taken is reduced by 15%
  • Falling damage taken is reduced by 15%
  • Incoming staggering is reduced
  • Damage dealt is reduced by 15%

Assassin[edit | edit source]

  • Unlocked by: Sneak 3 + Ninja 2
  • Grants +50 Stealth Skill
  • Increases melee critical hit chance by 10% and melee sneak attack damage by 100%
  • Reduces your VATS melee range, and cancels any effects from the Blitz perk

Duelist - Master of Pistols and Semi-Automatic Shotguns[edit | edit source]

  • Unlocked by: Gunslinger 3
  • +20% damage to: Any ballistic Pistols or the Double-barrel shotgun and lever-action shotgun
  • Grants a chance to stagger the opponent with these weapons
  • Synergy with Gunslinger:
    • (1) +20 Firearms Skill + Reload 10% Faster
    • (2) +40 Firearms Skill + Ballistic Pistols and Shotguns cause +10% Limb Damage
    • (3) Specialization + Ballistic Pistols and Shotguns cause +15% Limb Damage
    • (4) Ballistic Pistols and Shotguns cause +25% Limb Damage & have a 5% chance to disarm.
  • As of 1.8
    • Now includes all shotguns, as long as they are NOT in automatic mode
    • No longer includes pistols when in automatic firing modes
