Links to transcluded pages[]

As required by the wiki license, all pages must contain links to their transcluded material. In addition, not having a link to this material makes editing that section of content much harder. HyperLordBender (talk)

It is conventional to not link to the article if it has been fully linked. Editing difficulty is not significant, considering {{main}} does not necessarily mean that content below is transcluded and you have to see the source anyway. And what's that wiki license? Editing difficulty does increase by not linking the article transcluded. Why? Because I click the edit button, see there is nothing there but the transclusion, then I have to find that page, then edit. With the link I know the section is most likely transcluded and will go right to the linked article to edit the section. This may not sound like alot, but the increase in time to edit is compounding. If I need to do that 5 times for every article I need to edit, without that link, instead of taking 30 minutes, it would take 40 or 50. This is because the transcluded link is not always the exact link to the article (it often removes underscores).
https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/ "Attribution". Click on the appropriate credit thing. It states you must provide a link to the material, along with other requirements. I would copy it, but it doesnt allow you to.

This requirement is fullfilled by transclusion itself, even if it is meaningful within the wiki itself.
With the link I know the section is most likely transcluded
Not necessarily at all. I don't think requiring a {{main}} for every transclusion is warranted, but transclusion generally should be limited. I'll think about it Voker57 (talk) 18:55, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
in order to be precise you have this link on all pages: https://fo4horizon.fandom.com/wiki/Special:WhatLinksHere/article_name
Edit: its part of the page tools on the right pane. Qrsr (talk) 19:19, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
The point of using {{Main}} for all transclusions (maybe just the ones that transclude whole pages) is to reduce clicking. This is an option, but still requires the same amount of clicking as no link.
The only time I have encountered the the {{Main}} link that wasn't a transclusion is at the top of a page. most others are transclusions.
Is it possible to add something that when you add a transclusion it adds a comment with a link to the page (automatically)?
HyperLordBender (talk)
yes. if you use {{:}} and copy a header/section of the transcluded article you will have the option to click next to the header and automatically will face the editor window of the transcluded article.Qrsr (talk) 22:13, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
Ok, I thought there was a way. How about instead of {{Main}} we just make that a standard. Would be very little extra work.
HyperLordBender (talk)
well we would need to use {{Main}} if we transclude the section header also of that stuff. all you need to do is to click the edit icon next to the section et voila can edit the correct article content. Qrsr (talk) 22:17, 13 January 2022 (UTC)

{{:}} Correct Section Edit[]

see here: https://fo4horizon.fandom.com/wiki/Crop#Crop_Production if you click the edit icon next to section:general you will be linked to the crop production article to edit "general". Qrsr (talk) 22:20, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
